Our Portuguese flannel boxers are all yarn-dyed--not printed on. Yarn-dyed fabrics are always better because they are much more colorfast. What does yarn dyed mean? Each yarn is individually dyed before woven into fabric on these huge fabric looming machines.
Then, of course, being flannel, they are gently brushed to bring out the soft nap. Yummy!
We purchase our Portuguese flannels from Spechler-Vogel Textiles. They are, obviously, imported from Portugal, brushed on both surfaces, combed and mercerized, machine washable and require little, if any, ironing, and go by the name "Rodeo Cotton Flannel." Truly excellent fabric.
